I love watching a fire, the intense heat and high flames when it starts, the intense heat at its core during the middle phase. But the best part is the patterns of light and dark in the embers as it burns down. Faces appear in the patterns as you, sleepy from the heat, begin to drift.
I created this in the fall just after returning to the city from a long weekend at a country house with a big fireplace.
